Victims of the Night is a non-fiction book of crime scene photographs. David Storey owned a copy of the book, and used it to stage the bodies of Alicia Lopez and Jody Krementz in order to make their deaths look like autoerotic asphyxia. The book became an important clue for Harry Bosch.
