Gnala was a Class M planet, and is the homeworld of the Gnalish species. By the early 24th century, Gnala was a member of the United Federation of Planets. In 2333, Captain Jean-Luc Picard redirected the USS Stargazer to Gnala at the request of Lieutenant Commander Phigus Simenon, a native of the planet, so that he could participate in a procreation contest.
