Melbourne is the capital city of Victoria. It is the second most populous city in Australia and one of the largest by area. It was founded in 1835 by John Batman, an Australian. He bought the land off the Aboriginals for a blanket, a knife, a mirror and other cheap materials. It has been tied with Vancouver numerous times as the World's Most Liveable City.
