Arriving at the fort, the adventurers manage to ambush the Orks at a distance using their ranged weapons and the assistance of the humans. Neffy was able to set the siege weapon on fire during the battle, while D'zurr leaped from tree to tree to descend upon the Orks. The residents of the fort were poor farmers. They were being attacked by a nearby lord who covets their land and has the silver to hire mercenaries. Speaking for the party and seeing the obvious poverty around, Herald refused payment for their services, although there was a handful of silver to be had from the Ork mercenaries.
