The PPK/S was given to Bond at the National Gallery in London. Q handed him the PPK/S in a small foam-filled case with lock. As Bond opened the case and inspected his weapon, Q gave him an overview of it. When Bond pointed out the small cutout in the foam next to the one for his Walther, Q also handed him his radio transmitter. Later, in Shanghai, Bond followed Patrice to a skyscraper, where he removed his glove to activate his PPK/S and then followed Patrice into the building, although he ended up not firing his pistol. When he went to the casino in Macau, he again did not fire the pistol. However, one of Raoul Silva's henchman took the pistol from Bond and tried to shoot him with it, finding that the gun would not fire (despite him pulling its trigger).
