Maxson is mentioned as one of the five states of the New California Republic. Little else is said about it in any of the games, but its name comes from the founder of the Brotherhood of Steel, Roger Maxson or another member of his family. Maxson was built in close proximity to the Lost Hills Bunker, and, for a while, enjoyed the protection of the Brotherhood of Steel. Since there is evidence that the Brotherhood of Steel itself is not associated with the NCR, chances are that it is no longer protected by the Brotherhood as a result of the NCR-Brotherhood War.
