The Second Clone Wars broke out in 7 ABY, when the Clone Master Shadowspawn returned to the Galaxy from his long exile in the Dark Worlds Holding Facility. Having successfully taken over the facility, Shadowspawn brought with him an army of Shadowspawn troopers and his elite combat force composed of Clone Warriors. This small but elite army of clones engaged in a guerrilla war against both the recently-fractured Galactic Empire and the fledgling Second Republic, which had yet to establish a powerful and stable military force.
