Sam Harmon is a character in DEXTER. A narcotics cop that Captain Maria LaGuerta explains as a "real up and comer", is the son of the district judge and LaGuerta's personal pick for Lieutenant Debra Morgan's previous position as a Detective. Debra remarks that she knows Sam and that he's a solid cop but says that there are plenty of other candidates including a guy from Chicago. LaGuerta insists that dealing with a transfer situation at this time considering her lack of experience as Lieutenant would be too much and that Harmon is her guy, insisting that he be picked. Much to LaGuerta's surprise however is that Debra DOES choose the Chicago transfer, named Mike Anderson and despite first impressions, he is proving to be a professional and skilled addition to Miami Metro Homicide.
