You'll be facing a combination of organic and synthetic enemies protected by shields and/or armor. Jacob's Incendiary Ammo can help against armor and organics to a degree, so a second squadmate with anti-shield/synthetic powers is a good bet. AI Hacking in particular can produce some dramatic results at several points. Heavy weapons that affect multiple enemies such as the Arc Projector and Grenade Launcher are similarly to be preferred here.
