Alien is a Noggin HD (and later Cartoon Network XD) original series based off of the Arthur episode Bitzi's Beau. The series was produced by Nickelodeon Productions. The series premiered on September 1st, 2005 and concluded August 31st, 2009, with reruns currently airing on Nicktoons (Nicktoons Network by the time the network started airing reruns). The series is currently getting a movie by CBS Studios, set for release sometime in 2016, along with a revival announced for both Cartoon Network XD and Nicktoons.
