The atomic Light solidifier is a large, flashy machine that creates beams of solid light under the Sky City of the Hawk Men. Dr. Hans Zarkov invents a light solidifier to stabilize the City after Flash Gordon destroys the city's radium supply and the Atom Furnace. ("The Monsters of Mongo") It is also quite possible that the Martians employed this same technology in their "light-bridges" seen frequently in the second serial "Flash Gordon's Trip to Mars".
