Demidaemons are hybrids of spirit and another (usually human), mundane ancestry, appearing in the myth·corpi of many cultures, but belief in them and the recording of new instances to which the attribute is assigned have dropped precipitously with the spread of Western, 'epistemic' paradigms. Demidæmons are differentiated from demideities on the grounds that the dæmonic and divine that provide half of the parentage are differentiated (although, of course, both parentages may appear in the same individual).
