The RG2127X features a mahogany body bolted to a maple neck with a 24-fret rosewood fingerboard with offset dot position markers only on the 12 fret. Components include dual Ibanez humbucking pickups and a double locking tremolo that has L.R. Baggs active piezo pickup saddles for acoustic-like sound. The guitar has dual output jacks — one for piezo output and the other for mixed output. The RG2127X was available only in Japan. The RG2027X is a nearly identical model which was offered worldwide. The RG2127X was discontinued after 2002.
