Charley Hexam is a character in Our Mutual Friend. He is the son of Gaffer Hexam and the younger brother of Lizzie Hexam. At his sister's urging and against his father's will, he leaves home to receive an education. He encourages his schoolmaster, Bradley Headstone, to pursue his sister.
