Bridge assistant was a title invented by Naomi Wildman prior to her unofficial status as captain's assistant. She approached Seven of Nine with the premise that if she studied Seven's behavior long enough, she could learn to be perfect like her. Later, while playing kadis-kot with a temporarily childlike Seven, she mused about being promoted from bridge assistant to ensign, lieutenant, and eventually captain by the time they reached the Alpha Quadrant again.
