POPULATION: INFO: Emery is a town located west of the Silver River and on the banks of the Silver River. It is at the base of the Northern Evergreen Mountains. The climate is cooler then usual for the rest of Douglas Island with wet and cold winters, with a lot of snow, and mild, cloudy, wet springs and fall. Summer is mild, often partly cloudy. HISTORY: The town was originally planned to be a company town, but quickly reverted into a independent town.
