As Ukyo looks through some travel brochures she discovers one for an odd locale, the Curséd Cave of Broken Loves. According to the legend a couple who enters the cave together will break-up before they reach the other side. Ukyo decides to take Ranma and Akane along in hopes of ending their engagement. To prevent herself from getting paired with Ranma and ending their own engagement, she drags Ryoga into the cave and tells him about the plan. Ryoga agrees, but is unable to distance himself from Akane, especially when she asks for his help. Ranma and Akane start believing that Ukyo and Ryoga have become a real couple and decide to let them stay together.
