Toku was the headman of Mujitsu village. Yopparai the farmer, a notorious drunk, went missing and some time later a samurai child vanished, Doji Takozawa's son. The doshin Gobo aided a group of samurai visitors who investigated the crimes. They eventually exposed a Bloodspeaker cell based in Naishou province, who had abducted the people disappeared.
