The Polismassan (Taxonomically Taciturnus architectus; dubbed Maintainers by humans) are a unique bipedal, semi-aquatic race of intelligent beings. They weren't capable of speech, due to their lack of mouths. They received oxygen by submerging themselves in water for minutes at a time before entering non-aquatic environments.
