The Perkins P4 series models 4.107 at 4.108 of engines was built from November 1957 till 1971 . It was Originally known as the Puma. The low reving TA (tractor) version fitted with Cast Iron pistons and the Higher reving V (vehicle) version fitted with aluminium pistons. Later versions of the TA was were fitted with the aluminium versions. A prototype tracor was built for Frank Perkins from a Ford 9NAN fitted with his new engine.
