Tony Tellenson is the legendary man for whom the Tellenson Award was named after. According to Marlene Griggs-Knope, Tony tried to re-segregate the drinking fountains. During the banquet for the Tellenson Awards, a video is shown of an ill Tony in his hospital room. He is presumed to be on life support as Leslie Knope claims "I for one, am glad that they're keeping him alive".
