Wahine may refer to two ships of the Union Steam Ship Company of New Zealand: * TSS Wahine (1913–51) was an inter-island ferry that ran between Lyttelton and Wellington, New Zealand. She served as a minelayer in the World War I and as a troopship in World War II. [1] * TEV Wahine (1966–68) was also an inter-island ferry between Lyttelton and Wellington. She foundered on Barrett Reef at the entrance to Wellington Harbour in a storm on 10 April 1968. Of the 610 passengers and 123 crew aboard, 53 were killed.
