Mary II of Scotland (Maria Beatrice Vittoria Guiseppina; 6 December 1792 - 15 September 1840), born Maria Beatrice of Savoy, was Queen of Scotland from her presentation of the Jacobite claim by Napoleon I until being overthrown in the First Clan Rebellion by the Chattan Confederation in 1819. She was known as the "Italian Queen" and "Little Mary" by her subjects, who generally despised her and distrusted the usurpers appointed the throne by the French. She is recognised as an official sovereign of Scotland nonetheless.
