Forza d'Agrò is a small commune in eastern Sicily located in the Province of Messina. Along with the town of Savoca Forza d'Agrò served as the location for some of the scenes set in the town of Corleone. Both Mario Puzo and Francis Ford Coppola had visited the actual town of Corleone and decided it would not be suitable for filming, but had decided both Forza d'Agrò and Savoca would work much better for purposes of filming.
