Non-elemental runes are also sometimes called base runes, or catalytic runes (before the Fist of Guthix minigame). There are special runes called catalytic runes used in the Fist of Guthix minigame. Each rune can act as either one Mind rune, Body rune, Chaos rune, Death rune, Cosmic rune, Law rune, or Nature rune. At the beginning of the game each player receives 300 catalytic runes.
