The National Senate, also called the Coalition Senate, was the upper house of the National Parliament of the Galactic National Coalition. Each member planet had one senator, who elected the speaker of the senate and the president. When the Unification Wars ended in 25,053 BBY and the Galactic Republic was formed, the new Galactic Senate was based on the Coalition one.
