Yōmeiju (溶命樹, "Melting Life Tree") was a carnivorous tree yōkai that used vines capable of dissolving barriers to prey on other yōkai. It was put under seal by a priestess, but was later revived by Naraku using a shard of the Shikon Jewel. Naraku absorbed the tree so that he could use its vines to reabsorb the Infant.
