In January of 2011, Alexandra Quick encountered "a large Hispanic man wearing a faded brown leather jacket" while riding on a Greyhound Bus through Amarillo, Texas. The man "smelled like sweat and hay and cow manure, and had large, scarred hands which he kept on his knees. He nodded to Alexandra once, smiled in an almost nervous manner, and didn't say a thing to her."
