The remnants of the Mulluran Empire are also here, wedged between the Ferengi Alliance and the Breen Confederacy. Other systems formerly under the control of the Mullurans include Polon, Rostella, and G'Kra. The New Canada system is the location of the Black Gate, a unique wormhole with multiple opposite termination points. In 2384, first contact was made in the Trans-Briar Patch sectors between the Federation and an alien species known as the Blue.
