Like Chy to the south, Clyan was located to the west of the Ered Harmal. It was also an arid region, although its higher altitude (averaging 2,000 feet) helped to mellow the harsh climate. A Chyan-speaking people the Cly tribesmen lived in fortified hilltop villages. They subsisted on a broad variety of meat and dairy products, and made their living by herding or rug-making.
