Oshikiri's past is largely unknown. Mitsuko remembers seeing him in the Academy when the two were young. An older student, he graduated before her when he was 12 years old. His files indicate that he was made into a chūnin a year later. At some point in time later, he became a jōnin and was invited to join the Sunagakure Anbu as a member of the Special Investigative Task Force, where he was partnered with Mitsuko. At sometime prior to his promotion to the Anbu, Oshikiri's family was brutally murdered by a renegade shinobi from the village.
