The Middle-Earth Encyclopedia is an online encyclopedia founded by an unnamed fan at an unknown time dedicated to works of J.R.R. Tolkien. It is incomplete, and is a work-in-progress site. It is known for coining the term "Pete the Pirate" in referral to the Corsair Lieutenant in the The Return of the King film who was played by Peter Jackson, the director.
