The South Ridge (or South Slope) was an area on the Clabburn Range of the frozen planet of Hoth. It was located immediately to the south of Echo Base, a hidden base built by the Rebel Alliance in the aftermath of the Battle of Yavin. When the Galactic Empire attacked Echo Base, the South Ridge was used as a staging area for evacuating the Rebel transports and the starfighters that were to escort them past the Imperial blockade of the system.
