Goodson "Good Lord" Lord was an anesthesiologist assigned to US Army Doctor Leonard O'Doull in Georgia to replace the murdered Vince Donofrio. It was quickly apparent to O'Doull that Lord was at least as good a medic as Donofrio even though he was neither a career military man nor a medical professional. Lord was a trombone player by trade. Tall, blond, and handsome, initially O'Doull entertained thoughts that Lord might be homosexual. These thoughts persisted, off and on, throughout the remainder of O'Doull's service with Lord.
