Following the victory of the Galactic Republic during the Waymancy Storm in 7811 BBY, Skutroo reverse-engineered the Sif-Alulan process from captured Waymancy energy weapon technology, to develop the squintpipe process. As a result of Skutroo's efforts, rapid-firing turbolasers became prevalent in defenses across the galaxy.
