The U.S. Championship has primarily been a 3rd tier championship after the EUWC International Championship. However due to a roster split in 2005, the U.S. Championship enjoyed the status of the 2nd tier championship for the Main Frame brand as the International title was exclusive to the Monday Night Brawl/Take Down/Blackout brand. During the roster split, the U.S. Championship was the premiere championship belt on the Main Frame brand before the World Heavyweight Championship was made exclusive to Main Frame.
