It is awarded to the player for completing the Mission from knight quest the first time. After the weapon is awarded, will no longer wield her version of weapon. It's named after the giant Grendel from the epic poem Beowulf. Its attributes and description seem to instead reference the magical sword (the Giant's Sword) Beowulf used to kill Grendel's mother.
