MCI or Microwave Communications, Inc. was founded in 1963. It eventually grew to become the second-largest telecom company in the United States. In 1998 it was purchased by Worldcom and became MCI Worldcom. In 2003 the name was changed back to MCI. This lasted until 2006 when the company was purchased by Verizon. The MCI logo appeared frequently in the first season of Earth: Final Conflict on computer and Global screens.
