Sergeant Stevens of the US Military Police attended the siege of Coronation Street in December 1970 when an insane Joe Donelli held Minnie Caldwell hostage at gunpoint inside No. 5. Joe was absent without leave from the US army and the base at Burtonwood had been alerted to his whereabouts by US Sergeants Greg Flint and Gary Strauss - and the fact that they now knew that Joe had killed colleague Steve Tanner two years before.
