Coltvine was a young male hare, a nephew of Meldrum Fallowthorn the Magnificient and a brother of Foghill, Thurdale and Runtwold. He and his brothers were trained by their uncle Meldrum and formed a leveret squad. The squad helped rescue Mariel, Dandin, Bowly Pintips and Furpp Straightfurrer from Urgan Nagru's horderats in Castle Floret.
