Miya Bugen was a wealthy and respectable sensei with ties to Crane nobility. He widowed, and eventually the Imperial nakodo Otomo Norezaiko arranged her own marriage with Bugen. They bore a daughter, Miya Onako, who followed his father's footsteps in the Miya Herald school. Her mood was most suited to the Imperial Scion school, and Norezaiko's last act prior to retiring was to utilize her husband's vast wealth and her own political influence to gain Onako acceptance to this elite dojo.
