As a sergeant in the Republic Military, Blyes was sent to support the Republic Forces on Ord Mantell agains a large group of separatist.During one of his missions, the separatist used a jammer, which blocked his communications with the HQ forces. He may have met and unidentified Smuggler, who later helped him disable the jammer and restore his communications, receaving a blaster as a reward.
