Sylvester "Syl" Jones was a human male individual who resided in the Great Void. At an earlier point in his life, he was a funk singer, skilled and famous enough to become known as the "King of Funk". After retiring, he became a member of the Guild of Explorers, and later a DJ for a radio station. Living in Conference City, he shared an apartment with the neophyte Harry Potter, having also been given the role of tutoring the young wizard.
