The original 10 Discovery Avenue was a hotel, the Mandarin Suites. Construction began in 2009, and ended the same year in December. It was seven stories tall, with three hundred rooms. The Mandarin Suites had a three-star rank, and feautured a ballroom with a grand piano, and indoor balconies on all the floors, leading into the suites. On th On June 5, 2011, the Mandarin Suites were closed. A fire had ravaged all floors of the hotel, leaving behind a charred skeleton of a building. Two people were killed in the incident.
