Actually, the Bolliger & Mabillard Flying Coaster ride, the first of its kind, started out live in 2000 as the "Stealth"-ride in another Paramount entertainment park, Great America in San Jose, CA, but was relocated to the Carowinds venue three years later to make room for a water park. Once at its new location, it was rechristened the "Borg Assimilator", tying in to park owner's Star Trek property. In 2008, after Paramount had sold their parks to Cedar Fair (the same company that had previously acquired the Star Trek: The Experience attraction) and the licensing agreement with CBS Consumer Products expired, the Borg theme was removed and the ride renamed "Nighthawk".
