Club Deportivo Quetzal was a football club from National City that played in la Liga de Esperanzas. Quetzal was one of the most popular teams at the Liga de Esperanzas. Their first season was difficult placing dead last,but by the ended the year they placed sixth in the league, qualifying them to the quarter-finals.They surpassed La Roma and La Coruna in order to advance to the final.They lost 5-3 in the final, under the orders of then coach,Carlos Fajardo.
