Before SG-1 came to P8X-412, the people had been visited by a Prior who told them about the Ori. SG-1 tried to prevent people from worshiping the Ori, but failed when the Prior unleashed a plague on the people. The Prior healed them and the people began to worship the Ori. (SG1: "The Powers That Be") In 2007, when SG-1 used the Ark of Truth in order to prove to the Priors that the Ori were not gods and that they were dead. Consequently, the people of P8X-412 were freed from the Ori. (Stargate: The Ark of Truth)
