P2P-Next is a European Union Framework 7 project this is intended to produce a new platform for peer-to-peer digital media distribution that is capable of supporting multiple business models. The core software will be free software based on the Tribler platform, licensed under the LGPL 2.1. Participants include the BBC, Delft University of Technology, the European Broadcasting Union, Kendra Foundation, Lancaster University, Markenfilm, Pioneer Digital Design Centre and VTT Technical Research Centre of Finland.
