Dragonblood is a recurring item that can be taken from dragons. Its properties are modelled on those of the dragon's blood in which Siegfried bathes in the Niebelungenlied, an old German tale, in that, when dried, it renders affected skin (or other bodily surfaces) impervious to penetration. A person who applies dragon's blood to their body consequently becomes immune to piercing and slashing damage, but not to blunt and crushing damage.
