Lucius of Naples (born Lucien Charles Joseph Napoléon Murat; Italian: Luciano Carlo Giuseppe Napoleone Murat), was the third King of Naples of the House of Murat, ascending the throne in 1847 following the death of his brother Achilles. The was the second son of Joachim I and the father of Joachim II. His reign, until his death in 1878 at the age of 75, made him the longest-interred monarch of Naples by a handful of days over his grandson, Joachim III. He was known as Lucius the Good, for his kind measures toward his subjects and his encouragement of Northern Italians to emigrate south to make the Neapolitan region wealthier. The early Neapolitan Industrial Revolution began under his reign, in particular the latter part of it.
